Agility Robotics occupies the ground floor of a new-construction building along the Willamette river. The entire space is surrounded by windows, dominated by the north wall looking over the river to the green park space. We are equipped with the tools and workspaces needed for robot debugging and assembly, in a bright and open space. A public riverfront walkway passes the building, providing a convenient path to nearby downtown restaurants and breweries.
Corvallis is a college town, strongly influenced by the presence of Oregon State University. We are at the north end of Albany, enabling easy access to historic downtown Albany and the great restaurants there, and about 15 minutes from Corvallis. Nearby Hewlett-Packard chose this location for good reasons, and because of OSU’s strong engineering college and the influence of HP, we have a strong engineering and startup culture. There is a high quality of life, with excellent access to fresh food from surrounding farms, very little traffic, outstanding education and community for raising family, and reasonable cost of living. The climate is “cool-summer mediterranean,” with sunny summers and misty/rainy winters, leading to the lush, green landscape.
Within an hour or so from Agility Robotics are some of the best outdoor locations in the world. Day trips include hiking or skiing on Mt. Bachelor, visiting the coast and wading through the tidepools to find starfish and sea anemones, or heading up the Columbia river gorge for beautiful views, hiking, swimming, and fishing. Portland is 1.5 hours away, easily accessed for zoo trips, restaurants, shows, and more. Oregon is a vacation destination for many people; for us, it’s our home.
