Unboxing Digit: A simple how-to on initial assembly

We designed our bipedal robot Digit to be compact and easy to set up. Digit can be quickly assembled because we know that our customers are looking for solutions that can be rapidly deployed and are safe and scalable

When Digit arrives at a workplace, our robot is able to get to work right away completing the tasks that need to be done. Customers receive Digit in two surprisingly compact boxes.

The first step is to attach Digit’s legs:

  • Unlatch the torso strap and remove the torso using the rear handle

  • Place the torso face down on a flat surface

  • Remove the legs from the case and place them near the bottom of the torso

  • Slide the legs into place using alignment pins

  • Locate the eight M6X16 ND patch screws and install four at the top of each leg

  • Torque the screws to 11.75 NM using the provided torque adaptor

And that's it! A major step in Digit’s assembly is now complete!
