Johnson leads Agility Robotics’ next phase of growth and is focused on strategically bringing AI-powered humanoids to market to meet overwhelming demand and fill massive labor gaps. Agility Robotics’ mission is to build robot partners that augment the human workforce, ultimately enabling humans to be more human. Agility’s groundbreaking general-purpose humanoid robot, Digit, is the first multi-purpose, human-centric robot that is made for work–and the first to land jobs with supply chain partners including Toyota, Amazon, Mercado Libre and GXO, the world’s largest pure-play contract logistics provider.
Johnson was previously CEO of spatial computing company Magic Leap, where she led the pivot from consumer to enterprise, reset and recapitalized the company, and launched Magic Leap 2, the leading AR headset for business. She spent six years as Executive Vice President of Business Development at Microsoft, reporting directly to CEO Satya Nadella, where she drove strategic partnerships and transactions to accelerate growth. At Microsoft, Johnson launched M12, the company’s first corporate venture fund, which in three years added more than 80 companies to its portfolio. Before that, Johnson spent 24 years in leadership roles at Qualcomm.
As Chief Business Officer, Diez is responsible for setting Agility’s overall business and go-to-market strategy, working closely with CEO Peggy Johnson. In this role, he also leads all commercial, marketing, and communications efforts to build the company’s reputation and grow awareness and demand for Digit as the company enters its next phase of rapid commercial growth.
Prior to joining Agility, Diez led augmented reality pioneer Magic Leap’s public transformation from a consumer technology startup to an enterprise technology company and was responsible for the commercial launch of Magic Leap 2. He most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer at Magic Leap, overseeing business development, sales, customer experience, ecosystem solutions, developer relations, marketing, brand, communications, public affairs, and government relations. He previously held the roles of Chief Transformation Officer and Chief Marketing Officer at Magic Leap.
Prior to joining Magic Leap, Diez served as Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Product at Transform Brands, the owner of the iconic Kenmore appliance brand. Before that, he was the Global Chief Marketing Officer for R/GA, a global marketing and innovation agency, and helped lead the company’s transformation from a digital marketing agency to a global advertising and brand transformation powerhouse.
Velagapudi joined Agility Robotics in May 2023, bringing decades of experience that makes him singularly qualified to lead Agility’s product and technology roadmap. Holding a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University, Velagapudi bridges advanced academic research with large-scale commercial reality.
Prior to Agility, as a distinguished expert in robotics planning and control, he was a VP of Engineering and Chief Architect at Berkshire Grey developing bin-picking and AMR solutions. Velagapudi has a proven track record of creating and deploying robotic fleets in the most challenging and diverse environments—from complex industrial to outdoor settings, including fielding subterranean pipe-inspection robot platforms at RedZone Robotics, and co-founding Platypus, which deploys low-cost autonomous boats to collect environmental data on bodies of water.
In a landscape that is constantly disrupted by new technology, Velagapudi focuses on pragmatic product-relevant innovations: driving the vision and strategy for Agility’s Digit, operationalizing AI R&D efforts, and continually exploring what’s new.
Hurst is Chief Robot Officer and co-founder of Agility Robotics, and Professor and co-founder of the Oregon State University Robotics Institute. He holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering and an M.S. and Ph.D. in robotics, all from Carnegie Mellon University. His career-long research focus is to enable robots to interact physically with the world as well as people do, creating hardware and control approaches that enable the compliance, dexterity, and mobility we see all around us in the animal world. Today, a primary focus is on Physical AI, a powerful new set of tools to enable complex locomanipulation behaviors on capable hardware. This work is applied on Digit, the first humanoid to be commercially deployed, doing work in logistics warehouses. These are early steps toward robots going where people go, generating greater productivity across the economy, and improving quality of life for all.
Hunter currently serves as Chief Financial & Operating Officer of Agility Robotics, the world’s first, and only commercially deployed, humanoid robot company. In her role, she is shaping the financial and operational strategy as the company transitions from prototype to full-scale commercialization—helping define the future of automation and human–robot collaboration.
Before joining Agility Robotics, Hunter was Chief Operating Officer of SunPower Corporation (NASDAQ: SPWR), where she led the restructuring and crisis management of the global operations for a $1.5B residential solar business and a team of 3,000 employees across Supply Chain, Installation, Quality, and Customer Experience through an attempted turnaround, and then bankruptcy, as part of an executive transformation team. She also served as Chief Operating & Financial Officer of Nimble Robotics, guiding the company to an 8x valuation increase through its Series B funding round and bringing the company from it’s R&D phase to commercialization.
Over her 10 year tenure at Amazon, Hunter was one of the founding members of Amazon Logistics (AMZL), helping to build one of the largest and most complex logistics networks in the world. Hunter was also a part of the Kiva Robotics integration team when Amazon acquired that business in 2012, deploying that technology across Amazon’s global fulfullment network and working alongside the engineering and manufacturing teams to drive costs out of the product to increase margins for the business. Hunter has also held senior leadership roles at General Electric, Bristol Myers Squibb, Saint-Gobain, and The Gillette Company.
Michael Beer serves as Chief Financial Officer at Agility Robotics. Michael also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Cambridge Future Tech, SAIF Autonomy and Literal Labs. Prior to Agility, Michael held CFO roles at Energy Vault Holdings (NYSE: NRGV) and FreeWire Technologies, and served as Head of Financial Strategy & Investor Relations at Luminar Technologies (NASDAQ: LAZR). Before Luminar, Michael spent seven years at Citi (NYSE:C) in Hong Kong & Singapore, overseeing the transportation, logistics and infrastructure research franchise across Asia. From 2006-2010, he covered the North American transportation and logistics sector at Bear Stearns and Wolfe Research in New York. Michael has been a frequent contributor to CNBC, Nasdaq TradeTalks, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times and Barron's, among others. He received undergraduate degrees in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the Eller College of Management (University of Arizona) and completed his MBA at the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania).
Lang is a seasoned legal executive with over a decade of experience guiding innovative technology companies through complex legal and organizational challenges. She currently serves as Chief Legal and People Officer at Agility Robotics, where she contributes to advancements in robotics innovation and human-centric collaboration.
Prior to joining Agility Robotics, Lang spent nearly a decade at Magic Leap, rising through the ranks from Associate General Counsel to Chief Legal Officer. During her tenure, she led the company's legal, compliance, and venture financing initiatives, helping to shape one of the most ambitious spatial computing companies in the industry.
Earlier in her career, Lang honed her corporate legal skills as an attorney at Perkins Coie LLP, where she was part of the Emerging Companies & Venture Capital practice — a group recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a top firm in its field.
With deep expertise in mergers and acquisitions, start-up ecosystems, and venture financing, Lang brings a mission-driven approach to building scalable, legally sound frameworks for forward-thinking industries. Marroquin is a seasoned engineering executive with a track record of leading hardware and systems organizations at the frontier of robotics, autonomy, and consumer technology. He currently serves as Chief Hardware Officer at Agility Robotics, where he oversees a world-class organization spanning Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Systems Engineering, Test, Software QA, Integration, and Hardware Technical Program Management.
Before stepping into the CHO role, Marroquin served as Vice President of Hardware Engineering at Agility Robotics, building and scaling the hardware teams responsible for bringing humanoid robotics from prototype to deployment. Prior to Agility, he was Senior Vice President of Engineering at Tonal, where he drove hardware and software engineering efforts across product development teams in San Francisco, Toronto, and Taipei.

She currently serves as Chief Legal and People Officer at Agility Robotics, where she contributes to advancements in robotics innovation and human-centric collaboration.
Prior to joining Agility Robotics, Lang spent nearly a decade at Magic Leap, rising through the ranks from Associate General Counsel to Chief Legal Officer. During her tenure, she led the company's legal, compliance, and venture financing initiatives, helping to shape one of the most ambitious spatial computing companies in the industry.
Earlier in her career, Lang honed her corporate legal skills as an attorney at Perkins Coie LLP, where she was part of the Emerging Companies & Venture Capital practice — a group recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a top firm in its field.
With deep expertise in mergers and acquisitions, start-up ecosystems, and venture financing, Lang brings a mission-driven approach to building scalable, legally sound frameworks for forward-thinking industries. She is equally committed to the people side of organizations, dedicated to fostering collaborative environments that reflect and reinforce a company's core values.
Marroquin is a seasoned engineering executive with a track record of leading hardware and systems organizations at the frontier of robotics, autonomy, and consumer technology. He currently serves as Chief Hardware Officer at Agility Robotics, where he oversees a world-class organization spanning Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Systems Engineering, Test, Software QA, Integration, and Hardware Technical Program Management.
Before stepping into the CHO role, Marroquin served as Vice President of Hardware Engineering at Agility Robotics, building and scaling the hardware teams responsible for bringing humanoid robotics from prototype to deployment. Prior to Agility, he was Senior Vice President of Engineering at Tonal, where he drove hardware and software engineering efforts across product development teams in San Francisco, Toronto, and Taipei.
Earlier in his career, Marroquin led hardware and vehicle platform development at Lyft Level 5, the company's autonomous vehicle division — later acquired by Woven Planet (Toyota) — overseeing electrical and mechanical engineering, sensors, analysis, product integrity, and NPI. His broader background also includes tenures at GoPro and Dell, giving him deep experience across both high-volume consumer product innovation and frontier technology.
Known for building cultures of ownership and trust that unlock high performance, Marroquin brings a people-first philosophy to large-scale, cross-functional organizations. His expertise in scaling complex products — from early-stage prototypes to full deployment — has made him a defining voice in the next generation of intelligent hardware systems.
Shelton serves Agility Robotics, Inc,. as a board member and advisor, providing strategic guidance on the company’s growth, commercialization, and long-term vision in the robotics industry. Drawing on his experience in technology and product development, Shelton contributes to board-level decisions that shape the deployment of humanoid robots in real-world environments. His perspective supports Agility Robotics’ mission to scale innovative, human-centric robotic solutions across sectors such as logistics and manufacturing, while ensuring sustainable and responsible expansion.
